Areal pressure in grammatical evolution

چکیده
Abstract This article investigates the evolutionary and spatial dynamics of typological characters in 117 Indo-European languages. We partition types change (i.e., gain or loss) for each variant according to whether they bring about a simplification morphosyntactic patterns that must be learned, are neutral neither simplifying nor introducing complexity) introduce more complex pattern. find changes which complexity show significantly less areal signal (according metric we devise) than simplify changes, but no significant differences between latter two groups. result is compatible with scenario where certain parallel likely mediated by advergence contact proximate speech communities, while other developments due purely drift largely independent intercultural contact.

Policy Evolution with Grammatical Evolution
Security policies are becoming more sophisticated. Operational forces will often be faced with making tricky risk decisions and policies must be flexible enough to allow appropriate actions to be facilitated. Access requests are no longer simple subject access object matters. There is often a great deal of context to be taken into account. Most security work is couched in terms of risk manageme...

We outline the Grammatical Evolution algorithm before an exposition of some of the more recent research and developments in this form of grammar-based Genetic Programming. Some potential avenues for further exploration
متن کاملgramEvol: Grammatical Evolution in R
We describe an R package which implements grammatical evolution (GE) for automatic program generation. By performing an unconstrained optimisation over a population of R expressions generated via a user-defined grammar, programs which achieve a desired goal can be discovered. The package facilitates the coding and execution of GE programs, and supports parallel execution. In addition, three app...
متن کاملGrammatical Differential Evolution
This proof of concept study examines the possibility of specifying the construction of programs using Differential Evolution, and represents a new form of grammar-based genetic programming, Grammatical Differential Evolution (GDE). In GDE each individual member of the population represents a specific choice of program construction rules, where these rules are specified using a Backus-Naur Form ...
متن کاملExploring Grammatical Modification with Modules in Grammatical Evolution
There have been many approaches to modularity in the field of evolutionary computation, each tailored to function with a particular representation. This research examines one approach to modularity and grammar modification with a grammar-based approach to genetic programming, grammatical evolution (GE). Here, GE’s grammar was modified over the course of an evolutionary run with modules in order...
